A member of the Branch and his son were reunited for pizza in an Afghanistan war zone.
Reverend Bob Adams and his son Colin saw their tours of duty overlap for just two days as they served in Helmand province.
So they grabbed the chance to share a meal as bullets and mortar fire echoed around them.
Lance Corporal Colin 25, from Stonehaven Kincardinshire, recently completed a seven-month tour with 1 Scots Guards.
his dad, a Captain who was a baptist pastor in the town until last year, is serving as a field hospital chaplain in Camp Bastion.
They met at the base before Colin flew home. Bob 51, said he's proud of the work Colin is doing. He added: working here you come face to face with the realities of the conflict and it was difficult not to think of my son.
Colin said: There are challenging days in the army but we do our duty.
Bob has agreed to revisit the branch and do a talk about his tour in the future.
